For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Audi new Q5 Sportback are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The new Q5 Sportback has standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

The new Q5 Sportback has standard Maneuver Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Audi new Q5 Sportback offers an optional Top View Camera System and it also offers an optional rear camera washer to make backing always safe, regardless of road dirt or grime, while the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer a camera washer, requiring manual cleaning.

Both the new Q5 Sportback and the Range Rover Evoque have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The new Q5 Sportback’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the Range Rover Evoque’s (12 vs. 6 years).

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the new Q5 Sportback’s rear seats recline. The Range Rover Evoque’s rear seats don’t recline.

The new Q5 Sportback has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Range Rover Evoque with its rear seat up (25.4 vs. 21.6 cubic feet). The new Q5 Sportback has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Range Rover Evoque with its rear seat folded (53.1 vs. 50.5 cubic feet).

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the new Q5 Sportback’s liftgate can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The new Q5 Sportback’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Range Rover Evoque’s (4400 vs. 3935 pounds).

The engine in the new Q5 Sportback is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the Range Rover Evoque. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer cornering lights. The new Q5 Sportback Premium Plus/Prestige also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the new Q5 Sportback has standard extendable sun visors. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer extendable visors.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the new Q5 Sportback to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the new Q5 Sportback keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

The new Q5 Sportback’s Park Assist Plus can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
